Second ANB International ID Camp a Big Success From June 8th to June 13th, 2010, The ANB Academy had the privilege of hosting the following European Coaches for its second International ID Camp at the ANB futbol complex at CDS: Mr. Bernard Turpin, AJ Auxerre, France Mr. Guillaume DUMOULIN, Passion Foot / AJ Auxerre, France Mr. Sebastien Bannier, Stade Malherbe Caen, France Mr. Francois Rodrigues, Stade Malherbe Caen, France Mr. Luc Benard, FFF Technical Staff, France Mr. Bob Bennett, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, England Mr. Danny Karbassiyoon, Arsenal FC, England On Saturday evening June 12th, 2010, the European Coaches delivered a two hour lecture/open forum on their youth system of development in their respective clubs / federations. To summarize: - Bob Bennett talked about the recruiting system at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. - Danny Karbassiyoon Talked about his playing experience at Arsenal and how it is helping him in his scouting methods after a career ending injury. Danny is the only American born player to ever sign a professional contract at Arsenal FC. - Sebastien Bannier elaborated on the strength of Caen’s formation system in producing top level professionals. - Guillaume DUMOULIN said that North America’s football/soccer is in forward motion. - Bernard Turpin reiterates the importance of technique, mainly the first touch control and play at the youth level … without proper technique, there will be no tactics. For the youth, their overall message was very clear: - Technique will always be the foundation of the futbol player. - Age related training is fundamental. - Higher frequency of training is essential. - Competitions’ outcomes should reflect the development of the player. On Saturday & Sunday, the ANB futbol complex at CDS hosted 75 athletes from all over Canada and as far as Florida, USA, for 2 days of practical sessions, small sided games, coordination/speed testing (results attached) & full sided games. Find below the coaches comments and recommendations: - Coach Bannier said that he is pleased with the overall players’ abilities. - Coach Rodrigues this was his fourth time in Canada he was impressed with the improvement level of the ANB players and the good quality players that were from outside the academy. - Coach DUMOULIN seeing the younger player improvement level, he believes that it is a matter of time for North American players to close to gap. - Coach Turpin said that the younger group 10 to 12 had players that are more talented than what he has seen in France, which is a good sign for the future. Young players must be monitored on a yearly basis. - Coach Bennett will be sending a scout to the Foyle Cup in Ireland (www.foylecup.com) to follow on a list of specific players participating in this competition. The outcome of the INT ID CAMP: - Stade Malherbe Caen, has formally invited 2 players born in 1993 for their pre-season training camp starting July 5th, 2010. Details to follow in a press release. - Auxerre has formally invited a 1995 born player for August 2010. Details to follow in a press release. - Auxerre has formally invited the ANB management for a 10 day coaching education tour in their formation centre. - ANB to work on future projects with FFF Luc Benard. - The ANB International ID Camp will become a yearly event.
